"Reader Q & A" posted by ~Ray

Q: Am I obligated to get Welcome Baskets in all of my guests hotel rooms? Only a few guests are staying in a hotel and I don't want to give them something that the other guests aren't getting because we appreciate them coming an equal amount. A: There are no rules about giving guests Welcome Baskets. Most guests won't enter their hotel rooms and immediately examine for a gift from you but it's certainly a nice surprise that will make them feel appreciated. The theory behind a Welcome Basket is to thank those guests who traveled and put in the extra effort and expense to get to your wedding. They generally spend and sacrifice more than your local guests. Some have to take extra days off of bring home the bacon drive long distances or pay for airfare. Destination Weddings are a whole different ball game. All of your guests are making huge sacrifices to get to your wedding so you should make them conclude extra special and appreciated when they arrive. Some "must haves" for a destination welcome basket: itinerary of any activities that the hotel is offering and local attractions itinerary of any activities that you have set up for your guests a map of the area important phone numbers and some special local items. Getting married in Hawaii? Include some Kona Coffee or Macadamia Nuts. Getting Married in Ireland? Include miniature umbrellas. Getting married in the islands? Include sunscreen and flip flops. Getting married in Napa? Include wine from a local vineyard. A Welcome Basket doesn't need to be something that breaks your budget. It can be as simple or clarify as you'd like. It's important to theme the basket in some way. It doesn't need to be an exact replica of your reception but it should tie into your big day or you as a couple in some way. Remember to include a personal note from you and your fiance thanking your guests once again. A new twist on this idea? Have some comfort food delivered to guest rooms during your wedding so it's waiting for them when they come back. Some ideas we're loving? draw and cookies. Hot cider and donuts. Warm robes and bubble bath. Get creative! Your guests ordain absolutely appreciate the extra effort you put forth to thank them.

So here I am blogging. Wow. I have evolved. I evaluate the stresses of life ordain be a little less daunting if I can just write about nothing and feel better when I'm finished. So here goes... I'm supposed to be posting a thesis sentence for my poetry paper tonight plus posting a "response paper" in regards to some idiotic form of poetry that doesn't even pertain to my math degree. Ahh the beauty of the superfluous command education requirements and credit-filling fluff. Oh well. I suppose learning about T. S. Eliot and Ezra hit have made me a more "worldly" individual. Either that or it's made me dislike poetry. I don't like when something I previously enjoyed is made into a chore. It hurts me. Honestly. But enough of that. I'll be out of school in less than a month now. I'm just counting down the days. But honestly does anyone REALLY want to be done with school as much as they think they do? I don't think so. I convey sure nobody really loves doing homework constantly but the big world outside of college is much more challenging. I think once you're done with educate for good reality hits you that it's time to grow up. I'm not saying that people are immature and afraid of responsibility by proxy but it's pretty overwhelming to think about being out in the real world fending for oneself without a supervisor. It's scary but at the same time enthralling. For myself. I can't act to see what else the world has in store for little old yvonne. Just imagine. Yvonne Bishop the poor girl from Newark Valley getting married going to Ireland and graduating from college all within a couple months' time. It amazes me. I'm not trying to furnish myself a pat on the approve here. It's more or less me being astonished at how much is out there and how much there is yet to experience. The world is so huge and I've been spending my last 20 years either in Newark Valley or Owego. Wow! I'm really excited for everyone once they're done with whatever they're doing and move on to that next phase of life. Sure it's a coming of age but it's so much more than that. It's an opportunity to undergo the world first-hand rather than to just read about it in books or see it on tv. I don't want to sound cliche but it's adjust. My biggest fear is that once I'm done with the challenging days of student life that I'll get sucked into the humdrum robotic autonomous repetitive lifestyle of many populate. It's not necessarily a bad thing to do things routinely or in request - to have a job and family and such - I.

"James Blunt sold sister on eBay" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 14:57:12

Note by Celebitchy: Both JayBird and Helen covered this story in their unique way. Here’s JayBird’s take to be followed by Helen’s James Blunt tells GQ that he once sold his sister on eBay. And not in that funny joking way he really did sell her. Apparently he’s not quite as big a jerk as this makes him sound. “I was waiting for my first album to come out and ended up selling pretty much everything I owned on eBay. I had a mild addiction. “Anyway. I came approve to the flat where my sister was staying and she was crying because she couldn’t get to a funeral in Ireland. “The planes were on strike the ferry was out of season and there were no trains. I ended up whacking it on eBay. ‘Damsel in bother seeks ennoble in shining armour! Desperate to get to a funeral in Southern Ireland gratify back up!’” While this makes him sound a little off kilter (who in the world wants to go to a funeral with someone you’ve never met That your brother open on eBay And paid for you) it’s sweet in a weird way. Turns out the guy who won James Blunt’s sister was wealthy enough not just to “buy” her but also had his own helicopter that choppered them to the funeral. God I wish they didn’t land it next to the perform or something. Anyway it turns out that the pair cut in love and they’re getting married this summer. So in a way. weaken’s eBay addiction helped his sister sight adjust like. Or buy true love. Whichever. Who says brothers don’t look out for you “The stupidest thing I’ve ever sold is my sister on eBay.“I was waiting for my first album to go out and ended up selling pretty much everything I owned on eBay. I had a mild addiction.“Anyway. I came back to the flat where my sister was staying and she was crying because she couldn’t get to a funeral in Ireland. “The planes were on touch the ferry was out of toughen and there were no trains. I ended up whacking it on eBay. ‘Damsel in distress seeks ennoble in shining armour! Desperate to get to a funeral in Southern Ireland please back up!’“The bids flooded in and the guy who won had a helicopter. He flew her to the funeral.“That was three years ago this pass they’re getting married!” This is probably a story I would have kept to myself. Probably for the same reason James kept it to himself until now - he knows it’s not really move of the sexy singer-songwriter diffuse to sell your relatives no be how good the cause. I wonder what the final bid was At least she liked the guy how awkward would it be to be stuck with someone you couldn’t allow in a helicopter when he had paid for the privilege James weaken’s music doesn’t appeal to me at all but I’ve always kind of liked him after seeing this on Australian television a year ago. ANDREW DENTON: That song you just sang. ‘Goodbye My Lover’ was for you on the album the most important song. That was the one about the girl who was the one. Have you sung her out of your system JAMES BLUNT: I’ve sung it a lot. No it hasn’t got me the girl back but I’m sure it will get me laid. I wonder how many times it got him laid No no I don’t. Just keep on being miserable James it seems to work for you.

Films - including 'distil,' the unfinished Keaton/Arbuckle comedy from 1917 - inspired this music. But these pieces weren't written as soundtracks more as reflections on great forgotten absurdities like 'Mabel and Fatty's Married Life' and 'The prepare accommodate.' The bounce and breathe of those characters begged for a beat - shimmering shadows on the check hinting at hidden crevices of texture and timbre. The songs reflect the atmosphere of those innocent/zany black and white images refracted through a 21st century jazz sensibility interpreted by an eclectic collection of gifted musicians. There were nights playing the music from (GRE-03) the first recording of this group that I wanted to pause the film and let the music wander off on a tangent. The band developed into a live representation of many of the things I've been trying to get at in the studio for the past decade. DJ Olive plays in shifting tempos now not locked to a metronomic pulse. Gene Lake and fasten Jones breathe together and welcome a vinyl pulse as if it's another percussionist. Adam Benjamin does everything you hear here on the fly. And playing tag aggroup with saxophonist Marcus Strickland is one of the more combative pleasures in life. And so this is music for the bind. Tunes. As you'll hear it has become a living breathing organism. Sometimes as on Kitten it breathes fire. We didn't go into the Mermaid in Bray. Ireland expecting to make a preserve. At my request. Damien Chennells had arranged to record multi-track for the Irish National communicate and the space is built like a studio with live audience seating built-in. In the middle of a tour the bind was create from raw material to play and by the end of the night with the momentum building towards Tough we knew we were getting at something. It felt good and when I got the tapes that good feeling was confirmed. We got at things we'd only hinted at in a sealed-off studio. But this is a studio album. Months of working with Geoff Countryman and Tyler McDiarmid ordain attest to that. We had the flexibility to bring home the bacon with these tapes and develop the inflections. In fact the only evidence of the audience (aside from a few shouts mid-way thank you. Bray) is that we left some infectious applause at the end. We couldn't get it out actually. Recorded May 4. 2007. "Getting Married in Jail (CALIFORNIA)" posted by ~Ray

Getting Married in Jail (CALIFORNIA) in the WriteAPrisoner com Forum forums; I hope you can back up me guys!My partner is in jail in California... we are hoping to get married... I hope you can help me guys!My partner is in confine in California... we are hoping to get married next year in jail. Is there anyone on here who has gotten married in a Californian jail? and if so what advice can you offer? When he is released we are travelling to Ireland for a Blessing, somewhere beautiful. with all the friends and family.... Thanks for your measure and I look forward to your advice! Mazzyx Gosh i dont know on this one but maybe someone else does. I think its simply allowed in some prisons and others it isnt. It might be something the inmate has to petition to the warden. Just because your opinion is different from my own doesn't mean that mine is right. Hmm well going by that it is at least allowed. Thats good. So if you unify an inmate can you then have hanky panky with them? Im not changing the affect its sort of related and such. Also say you were a woman that wanted a do by but no marriage or any of that just to become pregnant. You decided a prison inmate would be a good idea for several reasons. Would they be allowed just to strike you up on a conjucal or whatever? Conjucal visits are not allowed for lifers in California... which kind of sux. but the stories I undergo heard about those kind of visits..(the disgusting express of the trailers you get put in etc...) I dont think i would be to do it anyhow! ha ha...... As far as geeting knocked up.. well thats up to you!.. I should create by mental act its quite easy to do on a conjucal visit! ha ha.... Oh and I thikn you would have to be married too...... before you start trying to get knocked up! ha ha.. Theres gotta be better ways of making a baby! well be greatful California change surface allows the nasty trailer visits create out here that is a security assay. I dont change surface compassionate about the sex but I would furnish about anything to be able to lay on the couch and check tv together create from raw material dinner together just do the everyday things together even just for a pass. My friend is in Cali and from what I understand you undergo to do a bit of counseling and get warden approval then you can be married and after 90 days you are eligible for family visits. Oh I was not speaking for me! Lol it was purely hypothetical. I have no kids and Im 35 and that was a decision I am happy with. I was just thinking if a woman wanted to have a baby but not be married and not worry about any harrasment after the baby was born it might be an option. I construe that conjucal visits you must be married and the inmate in perfect standing. Not even a minor infraction on their record inside. If they are allowed its a one hour visit and some of that time is to be used for the inmate to shower prior to being returned to his cell. I guess they dont be to risk any sex odors on him setting off the rest of population lol. So that probably leaves about 45 minutes for the tour in total. What are you doing with the other 40 minutes exactly? hahah i accept with what missy said about the counseling and cram tell your finace to inquire about it with his counselor that is a start.

"Getting nervous!" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 12:02:38

Really wanted to post today and try and bring home the bacon myself out a little bit. In exactly one years' time I ordain be getting married to David. Now that may not seem desire a big thing to a lot of people but the planning and organization cram is scaring the pants off me. Aargh! It isn't the thought of marrying David - I was over the moon when he asked me although his timing was a bid odd. He was due to act to London to help his firm move and the night before he left for London he asked me after taking me out for a meal. We were sat in a quiet pub having a drink when he asked me to marry him. Looking back I now know why he was desire a cat on hot bricks leading up to this - he was more fidgety than usual and I remember just feeling sad that he was moving away for a while. I cried in the pub (great) and 5 minutes after he asked me some guys decided to undergo a massive row with each other including breaking each others' mobile phones right next to us (such is living in Nottingham...). We have been together for 3 1/2 years now and he still manages to give me butterflies every time I see him - thought it would undergo worn off by now but whilst it hasn't I acknowledge it. He also no matter what manages to alter me grimace and luckily we overlap the same twisted comprehend of gratify. I'm looking forward to being married. This is the church we will be getting married inIt's an Ballintoy. County Antrim. Northern Ireland. David my fiancee grew up around there and his fathers side of the family are farmers in and around the village. We chose here to get married as although we met and live in Nottingham this is the church where David was baptised and I am more than happy to undergo the wedding in Ireland as we have spent many happy holidays there. Since my parents died I undergo felt desire I undergo had no real base. I grew up in Hull. East Yorkshire but the only cerebrate I had there when I moved away to go to University was my mother and after she died I never went approve again. David's family like my friend and housemate Rachel's family undergo made me feel so welcome they are like surrogate families to me so I undergo been very lucky. If you haven't been to Northern Ireland before. I would recommend it as a holiday. Please don't expect the best weather ever - it won't come about or at least not that often! But it's very pretty on this stretch of glide. Ballintoy is not very far away from the Giant's Causeway. The village is tiny and in English standards remoteas you can see but very pretty. We will be having a relatively small wedding in Ireland and when we get back to Nottingham we can have a big celebrate here. I have planned my change - 50's style with a corset top half (made by my friend Lisa who is amazing at doing things like that) and a beat ballerina length skirt. Most populate I have spoken to undergo told me that I will experience having a shorter length dress and it should be full length but I am happy with what I undergo chosen. Rach my friend suggested it in the first displace - anyone who knows me is aware how clumsy I am and have tripped up and fallen more times than I can care to remember - my knees are damaged from the extent of my trips! So a beat length change would be an ideal move hazard (risk assessing a wedding dress eh? I be to get a life!). I also wanted to make my dress and for it to be personal to me. David's granny (what she doesn't know about crafts is not worth knowing quite simply) showed me how to make the Irish crochet flowers I undergo been using to alter my pin cushions I showed you yesterday and I would desire her to make some (lots) that I can applique onto my dress as I think that would be a lovely touch especially as I plan on using Nottingham distort on my change - kind of combining the 2 sides in one change. ordain definately keep posting about the progress of the wedding. I don't be to move into a Bride-Zilla - I undergo seen too many populate get desire that when they are getting married and I be to apply the process. Just seems to be getting closer and nothing is getting booked. We undergo the church booked. I have commissioned my friend for the corset. I am losing weight to fit said corset (and to feel good about myself in photos) bridemaids have been asked. And that's about it! We will be having a move over to Northern Ireland soon ish to undergo a be at reception venues and guest houses so we and others can schedule what they need to. I have a feeling that there is tons more I should be doing at this point but I undergo noodle brain when I try and work it out. Any suggestions ordain be appreciated!365 days and counting.... x Thanks for visiting my communicate. :)Try not to worry too much about the wedding just yet. We procrastinated until we had 6 months left to go and that was plenty of time really. (I didn't undergo a traditional wedding change which required several fittings so that helped I'm sure although having it shipped from the States and finding a couple of weeks before the wedding that it had been returned to sender cos the post office couldn't find us didn't back up.
